Twitter..."the newest threat to my morals"

So...I was reading a blog post about it....and decided to check in out. And guess what?....It is blocked!!!So twitter is the latest additions to the bunch of normal sites blocked for pedantic reasons in the UAE. This list includes MySpace and Flickr. I had allude to this phenomenon in a previous post of mine.....

DAMN these self righteous pains in the ass who think they can regulate my freaking corrupted morals!!!!!!

Telephone Helplines....

I found this link and was instantly reminded about my experience with the Etisalat hotline, or whatever they call it. Tired of the sweet voice telling me that all their customer representatives or whatever they are called were busy with other calls....I decided to call them at 4 am in the morning. Guess what...I heard the same message.

Hmm...wonder what the customer whatevers were busy with at 4 am....anyway...to be fair, once you get through to them, they are pretty helpful and readily solve all our concerns.

Censors....are you seeing this?...

Uncyclopedia.....this site never fails to amaze me.

Here is their article on censorship. This article...actually is quite a rarity among uncyclopedian articles in such a sense that it makes a hell lot of sense and it oddly resembles what I feel...

Before signing off...here are two statements I saw somewhere in uncyclopedia...

"Time lies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana."

"Outside of a dog, books are man's best friends. Inside of a dog, its too dark to read."

Damn....thats clever!!!!!!!!

Amnesia is gRIPPING me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Few days ago, I was pondering about a few things, origin of life, are we alone in the universe, climate in alain, harry potter,...to mention a few....when my train of thought derailed and I started thinking about myself. I started thinking about my past and it suddenly struck me that, with the exception of some major events and a few many minor ones, I couldn't remember a huge chunk of my past.

Take my first school(OOEHS Al Ain)...I remember my First walk down its corridor...then nothing...I remember a few isolated incidents here and there; but on the whole I could remember very less from my first school. My second and third schools(in India) are much better...memory wise. I can remember most of the surroundings. How I cycled my way to school. The state of the roads...my friends. I remember most of their faces, but so few names. In some cases, I just remember their presence...their existence...rather than something specific about them.

Coming to my last school(ISA Al Ain)...countless incidents happened there. But I cannot recall most of them. Whenever I meet my ex-classmates, we sit and reminisce about the good old days. Sigh...its like I'm paranoid, looking over my back, its like a whirlwind inside of my head it like I cant s.....(damn...got sidetracked by some Linkin Park lyrics that popped up in my head)...nyways I forgot what I was gonna say.

The point is that I feel I am losing a valuable part of my life, as new friends, new experiences, and other things of the sort fill my life. I think I should get one of those Braincaps or something that is mentioned in one of the books in the Odessey quartet...the book's name eludes me now...Hmmm...or maybe I should get a digital camera and start snapping everything in sight...nyways I have convinced my parents.
Now the search begins.................

Incidentally, how did the post start and see where it reached....I should learn to focus.....

Satan...who art thou??????

I have always felt that the concept of Satan is flawed. This so called "being" is supposed to punish all sinners by condemning them to damnation (in a moderately warm place which I believe is called Hell), an eternal one too. But it is also said that Satan is kinda like an anti-God. So, logically the guy should try to do everything in such a way that opposes God. So, shouldn't he reward those who follow him? I mean loyalty should be rewarded everywhere, right? So it implies that Satan must work for God in order the notions we have to be right. But I am sure that this will be vehemently denied by all.

Or I am right in thinking that all religions evolved to keep the barbaric tendencies of humans in check, while actively making sure that no one questions these beliefs? I say this because most people(as far as I know) lead moderately decent lives in fear of some divine retribution.

Whenever I try to ask devout believers in any religion about these ideas, the retort is always somehing like the (insert name of holy book) is right because it says so in the (insert the same holy book).

To me, that answer is not in any way convincing. But maybe, such matters may transcend all logic and require blind belief. I don't claim to be infallible or anything. These arguments might even be a result of my ignorance as well. In which case I would like "better informed" people to correct me.

This post didn't go quite the way that I intended. Got sidetracked in between. Ahh well, what the heck. I can't type anywhere as fast as my thoughts. It is ironic that while I was typing this (I normally type my posts separately and then upload them whenever I get time) I was listening to some devotional song on TV. Also, in spite of all my questions and ideas, whenever there is a crisis or the opposite, I call upon God for help, thanks or whatever the situation requires. Ahh, well...maybe I should proud of the fact that I am continuing the great tradition of humanity in being an exemplary hypocrite.

Sigh, thats lyfe.

Spoof Physics Question Paper

here...

It scares me to think about what passes for science education in one of the most powerful countries in the world.

This is an open letter from the cartoonist regarding the same. Yep, it doesn't affect me in any way, but anyways....

Nourishment exotica...

Blackle is nothing but a black version of google.

"A few months ago, TreeHugger Mark Ontkush wrote a post on his blog
EcoIron titled Black Google Would Save 750 Megawatt-hours a Year. The
post lays out the following train of thought. "An all white web page
uses about 74 watts to display, while an all black page uses only 59
watts." Google, which has a white background and gets about "200 million
queries a day" could reduce global energy use by 750 Megawatt-hours a
year by simply changing the color of its homepage to black.
In response to this post a black version of Google emerged called
Blackle.com. According to Blackle's homepage at publication time,
4,408.917 Watt hours have been saved by . Nice ideas. But how does the
search measure up? Very well indeed. Give it a whirl yourself and start
saving energy one search at a time. :: Blackle.com: 1

Wow. I seem to remember some quote quote in this regard. "68% of all statistics are made up...including this one." I think it was Scott Adams.

Anyway, even if the statistics were right, there are a lot of things that could save a considerable amount of power. I don't know, something like using CFL lamps or switching off electrical appliances when it isn't used (it can be as simple as swithching off the fan or light). These and more could save much more power than using 'black version' of Google.

Fun Fact: My wikipedia search for CFL redirected to the wiki page on the Canadian Football League.

The Great (am)Bush

Nowadays all we can see are rants about how Mr. Bush is stupid, idiotic, a general pain in the ass, so on and so forth. Even yours truly occasionally indulges in what seems to be a global pastime. But what really pisses me off is that most Americans indulge in this sort of sentiment as well....

Now, I am not trying to endorse Bush or anything, but how can the American folks in general voice such outrage against this guy when they are the ones that elected him in the first place? I can understand if this was his first term. But for heaven's sake, this guy was re-elected. These might be the words of an ignorant guy, but still...how the HELL did he get re-elected?

This guy's popularity rating is lower than the temperature in Alaska(poor joke...sorry) and it scares the crap out of me that he still holds the power to autonomously control(i cannot describe the power of vetoing the senate in any other words) the most damn powerful country in this damn world. One who sees the UN fit for imposing sanctions on other countries while it ignores it in other matters (namely, Kyoto treaty, Iraq war, ...hmmm...can't think of more). I don't really think that any democratic system should have a position which can override a sizeable portion of the elected members. The fact that a person who has lost all credibility is able to do this...is wrong.

Ahh...well....who am I to talk about these things, but I don't want to just simply sit watching or hearing all this crap. Well, that might explain why I am typing this in the middle of the night to post it on an obscure blog....

As for the title, I am not that creative at 4 in the morning...hmmm...excuses, excuses....

18 Ave de Suffren Paris, 75740 France

I am just sick and tired of people making a big fuss about Paris Hilton. I don't know what people find so alluring about her.Is it the fact that she is a millionaire heiress or her looks(?) or (god forbid) her songs? Or the fact that she had no qualms in distributing...err...home movies(?).

Anyway, everything she or does makes the news. I can't comprehend the fact that most people have lives so mundane that they have to generate excitement by being up to date about their favourite celebs' exploits. It pains me to think that some folks might actually consider her to be a role model.

Coming back to Paris Hilton. Now it seems the latest buzz is about her jail sentence. Well, I have no idea what her crime was, but I don't think it matters to the general public. A huge fuss is being made by the media about everything, from what she plans to do in jail, to her new surroundings, to her to be jail mate.

Hmm..I am in the mood for predictions. I predict that her cellmate is gonna write a book that outlines her memoirs about sharing the same space as Paris Hilton. This might also lead to reality shows being made, where Paris Hilton lives with other people in extremely cramped spaces(a spinoff of her previous reality show) and the so called drama that will follow. Ahh...but today's world is shaped in such a way that I am sure that it would be a huge hit.

Networks...I hope you get this idea somehow so that I can brag about how I saw it all coming. Who knows...I may even decide to start my own religion...or atleast a psychic helpline...

But that is a discussion for another day.

Oh yeah, if anyone was wondering what the address above signifies....Well it points to The Paris Hilton(the hotel).....
